Lucius is an entrepreneur, record label executive, music producer, songwriter and musician whose hands have touched multiple Grammy award winning songs. As a songwriter and producer, Lucius is credited for penning and producing four #1 songs on the Billboard Charts, multiple top 10 songs and several top 40 songs that have topped the charts for multiple weeks at a time. He has a catalog of over 75 songs. Raised in the church, yet classically trained, Lucius B. Hoskins has found a way to use the power of music to position himself as one of the most sought out songwriters, music producers and guitarist of today.

 

Born and raised on the southeast side of Grand Rapids, MI, Hoskins was surrounded by music. His father, a well-known pastor and leader in the community, known around the city for his guitar playing and singing, while his mother was a lover of all genres of music and kept R&B and Gospel playing around the house. His Grandfather was also a well-known and sought-after singer in the area, so it’s no surprise that Hoskins fell in love with music at a very young age.

 

As a gifted musician, songwriter and music producer, Hoskins’ talent has afforded him the opportunity to travel the world working with over 50 A-List artists such as Jill Scott, Tank, Carl Thomas, Kirk Franklin, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, James Fortune, Tamar Braxton, Yolanda Adams, Kelontae Gavin, Kim Burrell, Stephanie Mills, Tobe Nwigwe, El Debarge, Chico Debarge, Gene Moore, Zacardi Cortez, Bishop Marvin L. Sapp and many more.

 

Hoskins has received multiple awards including three Stellar Awards, five Rhythm & Soul Awards, 10 BMI Awards, one Dove Award nomination, a Billboard Award nomination, a Grammy Award nomination and has worked on a handful of Grammy nominated albums. In 2023 I partnered with Our Daily Bread to Produce for a documentary called “Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom”. It has been aired a total of over 400x on local PBS stations around the country. In addition to his music career, he has founded five successful companies, including a production company, two publishing companies, his own record label, and an educational consulting firm.

 

Lucius resides in both Grand Rapids, Michigan and Houston, Texas, and is a proud husband of 25 years and father of four young adults.
